Vancouver firefighters were busy Boxing Day morning trying to extinguish a large fire at an industrial complex on Southwest Marine Drive.
An abandoned warehouse near Oak Street caught fire just after 3 a.m. As many as 40 firefighters responded to the blaze, smashing windows to get water in and let smoke out. Plumes of smoke could be seen from several kilometres away and the road in front of the building was closed to traffic. It has since reopened.
No one was inside the warehouse at the time and investigators have been called in to determine a cause.
