The Transportation Safety Board has dispatched a team of investigators to Squamish today after reports a vessel may have touched the bottom while approaching the Squamish Terminals.
The ship, named Kai Xuan, is a cargo ship, but it is not clear at this time what was on board.
The incident reportedly happened at 2:10 a.m. on Dec. 18, but investigators were only dispatched to the scene on Monday.
The shipping company, Grieg Star, says a diver inspection has been carried out on the ship, and no indications have been found that the vessel touched bottom. However, investigators are still welcome.
The Kai Xuan is almost 200 metres long and more than 30 metres wide.
Squamish Terminals is operating as normal.
