Whiskey’s seen a lot in his eight years on the force, sniffing out crime in the Okanagan and beyond.
He’s had his paw on the pulse of several drug busts, helping take more than $2.5-million worth of narcotics off the streets. He’s also been called on to help find missing people and even bring smiles to sick kids faces at local hospitals in his spare time.
But after nearly a decade of service, it’s time for him to hang up the leash and retire.
His hard work has even caught the attention of B.C.’s Premier.

“Police Service Dogs have a proud history in Canadian police work,” says Premier Christy Clark. “Whiskey is no exception. Whiskey is every man’s, woman’s and child’s
best friend. We thank him for his eight years of loyal service in Kamloops, Kelowna and throughout the Okanagan.”
His plans post police service? He’ll continue to live with his handler — it is home after all — and he’ll also keep his nose to the grindstone with charity work, continuing to make visits at local hospitals.
