Lost your precious ring in the garbage? Don’t fret, just call Cal Waste

Just because you’ve accidently thrown your precious ring in with the garbage, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s gone for good.

Just ask Sandy Garcia of Sacramento, California who last week took her engagement ring off to do the dishes. When her husband picked up his keys from the counter he accidently knocked the ring into the trash without realizing. He later took the garbage out to the bin.

Garcia later realized that her ring was missing and searched her entire place.

Unsuccessful in finding the ring, she called Cal Waste and in this case, just in time.

She contacted Norm Worthen, a route supervisor for Cal Waste, who sent a truck to her apartment complex after realizing the bin hadn’t been collected yet.

The bin was overturned at the Cal Waste yard when Worthen and Garcia went to work looking through the garbage piece-by-piece.

“All of a sudden there was something round covered with some goo. I pulled it off and wiped it off and said this is it,” Worthen told KOVR News.

“It’s a tiny thing to find in a huge pile of garbage. When he pulled it out I was just shocked,” Garcia said.
