Regina man charged after bank robbery

REGINA – Police have laid charges in an armed bank robbery last month in northwest Regina.

At approximately 9:47 a.m. on Nov. 17, Regina Police responded to reports of a robbery at the Royal Bank on Rochdale Boulevard.

Police say a male suspect wearing a black mask entered the bank armed with a shotgun and demanded cash. He then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a black duffel bag.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Police have charged 26-year-old Evan James Blight with Robbery with Weapon, Disguise with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence, Breach of Probation, Point Firearm, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Carry Concealed Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm and Tampering With Serial Number.

Blight was arrested on Dec. 10. and made his first appearance in Provincial Court on Dec. 11 at 9:30 a.m.
