KELOWNA — It was a whirlwind trip for 72 children from the Thompson-Okanagan, who flew from Kelowna to Disneyland and back in a little over 24 hours.
All of the children chosen for the trip face physical or medical challenges, and the tour of the Magic Kingdom is meant to give them a day of fun, away from their daily struggles.
The Sunshine Foundation of Canada organizes DreamLift trips, with the help of community and corporate donations.
This year’s Okanagan Flight was made possible because of Papa John’s Pizza shops, which donated proceeds and wages from one day’s business to the cause.
