Yiu is currently the agency’s chief medical officer and is to serve as CEO while the province searches for a permanent replacement for Kaminski.
She is the sixth CEO of the health superboard since it was formed in 2008.
The 2015-16 budget for Alberta Health Services is $13.9 billion.
“She will provide leadership and stability and will work with the board to continue to ensure high-quality health-care delivery and innovation across the province,” Linda Hughes, chairwoman of the Alberta Health Services Board, said Tuesday in a release.
