Manitoba chocolate company will help rescue Kenyan orphans

WINNIPEG — After reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as a kid in Winnipeg, Paul Boge knew he wanted to start his own chocolate company for a good cause.

30 years later, Boge and his dad launched their own business, carefully selecting origin chocolates from around the world then packing and selling them in Manitoba.

All of the proceeds from the chocolate goes to help Kenyan orphans.

“This is origin chocolate so it is literally the very best chocolate in the world… it comes from Peru, Ecuador, Venezula, Dominican Republic and all the way from Madagascar and Africa,” Boge said. “Then it gets brought to Winnipeg, the boxes come from Altona and are manufactured here in Winnipeg.”

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The boxes features a 1492 world map on the front and a small Christmas story inside.

“I hope people get a chance to see and recognize what Christmas is all about to begin with… the joy of being able to give,” said Boge.
