Vancouver tech giant Hootsuite has downsized its local operations.
The social media company, headquartered in Mount Pleasant, is cutting 20 jobs.
“Hootsuite has completed a global reorganization to create a simpler, more aligned business that is purpose-built to support our over 10m customers, and scale to a multi-billion dollar enterprise,” wrote Corporate Communications Manager Sandy Pell.
“With this reorganization, we have merged some business units and cut others, which unfortunately meant we had to transition around 20 Vancouver employees out of the business.”
The company says they will hire more than 100 people next year under the new structure, but it’s unclear how many will be located in Vancouver.
Hoosuite’s workforce includes nearly 1,000 employees around the world.
