Saskatoon Open Door Society open to donations

In response to a call for storage space, a Saskatoon business has given the Open Door Society a place to hold donations meant for Syrian refugees. Dayne Winter / Global News

SASKATOON – A local business has come through and now Saskatoon’s largest immigration group has a place to store piles of donated items. The Saskatoon Open Door Society had appealed for the public’s help last week when it was inundated with items for Syrian refugees coming to Canada.

With newly acquired storage space, the society is once again accepting small household items and clothing.

Three December volunteer information sessions at the society this month are now full. Another 155 people are on the waiting list for future sessions.

People interested in dropping off items or volunteering should call the society at 306-653-4464 or email info.syrian@sods.sk.ca.
