Not enough evidence in Jenique Dalcourt murder

WATCH ABOVE: Jenique Dalcourt was found brutally beaten on a bike path in Longueuil.

LONGUEUIL – Quebec’s Crown prosecutor’s office said there is not enough evidence to charge a suspect following the brutal murder of 23-year-old Jenique Dalcourt.

Dalcourt was beaten to death on a bike path in Longueuil in Oct. 2014.

The DPCP made the announcement Thursday.

Shortly after Dalcourt’s body was found, police arrested and questioned a 26-year-old man in connection with her murder.

He was released after the Crown dropped the case for lack of evidence.

At the time, Dalcourt’s family called the process ridiculous.

“We’re stuck at a standstill in our grieving process,” Nick Gandolfo had told Global News.

Dalcourt’s family has been notified of the update in the case.
