EDMONTON — The University of Alberta’s Rutherford Library will remain closed until Wednesday morning after it was evacuated Tuesday evening.
Fire crews were called to the library at around 5 p.m. due to a foul odour.
A spokesperson with Edmonton Fire Rescue said a chemical used to clean the lower floor bathroom was to blame.
The University of Alberta said Rutherford North and South would remain closed Tuesday night and reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday. Students were asked to use the Cameron Library for studying Tuesday night.
