EDMONTON – A man charged in the deaths of a St. Albert couple in 2010 has been charged with attempting to obstruct justice in a separate case.
RCMP Insp. Gibson Glavin said Travis Vader was arrested on Nov. 12 near Evansburg, west of Edmonton.
Vader was charged earlier this year after an alleged altercation involving his mother’s boyfriend at her residence.

Glavin said Vader has been charged with obstructing the course of justice in a judicial proceeding, failing to comply with a recognizance, specifically making contact directly or indirectly with someone he wasn’t permitted to do so and failing to keep the peace.
Glavin said Vader was denied bail and will next appear in provincial court in Barrhead on Nov. 24.
He is to stand trial in April 2016 on charges of first-degree murder in the deaths of Lyle and Marie McCann of St. Albert.
