A woman was killed in Abbotsford Wednesday night after she was struck by an SUV.
Just before 6 p.m. officers responded to reports of a pedestrian struck near James Street and South Fraser Way. Officers say the woman wasn’t in a crosswalk when she was hit.

The male SUV driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.
It’s the eighth pedestrian-related collision in Abbotsford in recent weeks.
Police say the intersection will be closed for several hours while the investigation continues.
