Toronto police identify suspects in poppy donation box theft at Tim Hortons

TORONTO – Toronto police announced on Wednesday they have identified the two suspects wanted in connection to the theft of a Remembrance Day poppy donation box from a Tim Hortons in the city’s west end.

Authorities said one of the suspects is believed to be a youth and prior video and images released by police of the incident can no longer be published under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

It is alleged the two suspects walked into a Tim Hortons at 1094 Bloor St. W. and one of them grabbed the box while the other stood look out at about 6:20 p.m. ET. on Saturday.

Police said a warrant for their arrests will be sought on Nov. 12.
