A Langley woman has died from head injuries she suffered in a horse riding accident Monday afternoon, police have confirmed.
The victim, described as an experienced horsewoman in her 50s, was thrown from the horse she was riding and suffered serious head injuries, said Const. Craig Van Herk, media liaison for Langley RCMP.
He said a B.C. Ambulance Service air ambulance arrived at the scene shortly after 4 p.m.
The woman, a resident of Langley, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Van Herk.
“The injuries were extensive.”
The victim’s name was not released, pending notification of her next of kin.
Van Herk said police are not looking to charge anyone in relation to this case.
