Hundreds of people gathered Tuesday to say their final farewells to a young Calgary woman whose death remains shrouded in mystery.
Amanda Antoni’s body was discovered in her Castleridge home a little more than a week ago.
Her funeral was held in Crossfield, where the 31-year-old woman was described as outgoing, sometimes mischievous, and most of all, generous.
“She goes around in the winter time and fills backpacks full of stuff, and then drove around and handed them out to the homeless that she didn’t know who they were,” recalled Darrell Hogg, Antoni’s brother.

Antoni is being remembered as someone with the unique ability to touch people.
“I think every family has a person who is the light and the centre of energy in a room – and she was that person,” said Sheila Enevold, a family friend.
Antoni’s family wants answers, but so far police have not made any arrests.

“We heard (it was) a violent death, and those two words just haunt me. Answers would be great to bring peace to her immediate family,” said Deborah Hogg, Antoni’s aunt.
“It’s very hard, the not knowing is definitely the hardest for the family. Her husband, my mother, we’re all taking it really hard, that’s why we’re asking anyone that might know anything to come forward,” added Darrell Hogg.
Police have not said exactly how Antoni died. Her death remains classified as suspicious.
