TORONTO – Non-profit organization Invisible Children released the second video of their Kony 2012 campaign Wednesday, revealing the progress that has been made in the pursuit of Joseph Kony since their first video went viral in March.

The 20 minute long video provides more details on the progression of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and the various political movements that have began since the release of the Kony 2012 campaign.

“KONY 2012: Part II – Beyond Famous offers a closer look at the LRA and explores the solutions put forward by leaders of the currently-affected areas of CAR, DRC, and South Sudan, where local communities continue to live under the constant threat of LRA violence,” reads the video’s caption on the Invisible Children YouTube page.

According to the new film, since the campaign to have Joseph Kony arrested began, the LRA has abducted 57 more people.

Jason Russell, director for the first Kony 2012 film, did not appear in the film and his name was not listed in the credits. Russell suffered a mental breakdown after controversy was sparked due to concerns about the validity of the Kony 2012 initiative.

The video urges viewers to participate in “Cover the Night,” the next initiative planned for the campaign to “Stop Kony,” which encourages participants to put up posters to raise awareness in their city.

After 13 hours, the latest video had just over 300 views. Kony 2012, the half hour film that went viral last month, received more than 100 million views in less than a week on YouTube.
