VICTORIA – A 31-year-old man from Cold Lake, Alta., has been identified as the person who drowned when a boat overturned near Campbell River, on the east coast of Vancouver Island.
The BC Coroners Service says Christopher Allan was with three others returning to the city from a fishing trip on Saturday when their boat capsized, throwing all four into the water.
The group was rescued shortly afterwards by the RCMP boat, but Allan was unresponsive.
He was transferred to Victoria General Hospital but died there two days later.
The coroners’ service says it will investigating the death.
