CALGARY – The man accused of killing Calgary mother Christa Cachene made his first court appearance Monday.

Isaiah Rider appeared in person in Calgary Provincial Court wearing a blue prison jumpsuit. His feet were shackled.
Rider is charged with second-degree murder for the death of Cachene, 26.

Cachene was beaten to death following a house party at her house. She was found in the basement of her Ranchlands home Oct. 11.
The case has been put over until Dec. 1; high-profile defence lawyer Balfour Der is representing Rider.
Eighteen-year-old Rider remains in custody.
