Suspicious vehicle fire in Saskatoon’s Westmount neighbourhood

SASKATOON – The Saskatoon Fire Department dealt with a suspicious vehicle fire in the Westmount neighbourhood Sunday. Shortly after 4 a.m. CT, firefighters were called to 317 Avenue J North.

When the fire crew started to extinguish the fully involved vehicle, a small explosion occurred inside it on the passenger side.

Saskatoon police and a fire investigator were called to the scene due to suspicious circumstances. The investigator determined the cause of the fire to be incendiary.

No injuries were reported and damaged is estimated at $10,000.
