NEAR CHERRYVILLE – There has been another cattle poaching incident in the north Okanagan.
Coldstream rancher Jeremy Wasylyszyn of Aberdeen Farms says a cow and its calf were shot dead Tuesday on a forest service road east of Cherryville.
The two animals were partially butchered with just the prime cuts of beef removed.
Wasylyszyn says the cattle would have fetched about $4000 at auction.
The incident has been reported to the Lumby RCMP and the Conservation Officer Service.
Aberdeen Farms is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the poachers.
The Coldstream Ranch has also lost four cows recently to poachers.
It’s offering a $1,000 reward to try to catch the culprits.
