WINNIPEG — As the weather gets colder a local group is hoping to help out some of Winnipeg’s less fortunate and make sure they stay warm over the winter season.
On Saturday, the Street Ministry, along with the Carman Pentecostal Church, set up shop at Old Market Square.

Ron Eldridge was homeless for 13 years, from 1974 to ’87. He managed to turn his life around, but has never forgotten the people who are still in need.
Eldridge currently runs the Street Ministry, where they give people clothing, food and counselling on the streets.
The group is providing clothing, blankets and sleeping bags, along with several hundred backpacks filled with personal hygiene items, water and snacks.
It’s expected nearly 900 people will take advantage of the free pop-up shop.
The group is also asking for donations to go towards find a building to house beds for the homeless.
