MONTREAL – Lucille’s Oyster Dive, a popular landmark in Montreal’s Monkland Village, was ravaged by a four-alarm fire on Wednesday afternoon.
The first alarm was sounded at a little after noon after the fire apparently broke out in the kitchen of the establishment, located at 5626 Monkland Ave. in Notre Dame de Grâce.

It took Montreal firefighters more than three hours to bring the blaze under control, which over the course of the afternoon had been upgraded to a four-alarm fire requiring nearly 40 emergency and fire department vehicles and 90 firefighters to combat.
Montreal fire department spokesperson Eric Delorme said damage to the restaurant and two businesses located in the same building was extensive, as was damage to apartments located on the second floor of the building.
There were no injuries reported in connection with the incident.
