World’s oldest tree-kangaroo celebrates 27 years, 2 months and 12 days

Zoo Miami announced on Thursday that Patty, the Matschie’s tree-kangaroo living at the zoo became the oldest of her species ever documented.

Patty has reached 27 years, 2 months and 12 days of age and zoo employees celebrated the momentous day with a birthday cake.

Patty was born at the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, South Carolina and has thrived in the Miami zoo for 26 years.

The kangaroo has successfully given birth to four offspring during her time in the zoo.
