Outside court, defence lawyer David Lutz confirmed his client’s guilty plea.
Twenty-year-old Jessica Miller was reported missing after family members had not heard from her for a number of days.
Her vehicle was discovered in Saint John on July 13, and police recovered her body in a wooded area off Highway 1 near Prince of Wales, west of Saint John, that evening.
In a news release on the guilty plea, the RCMP say an autopsy determined Miller’s cause of death was asphyxiation.
