TORONTO – An Uber driver wanted for allegedly sexually assaulting a female passenger in Toronto has been arrested, police announced Tuesday.
The alleged incident took place on Sept. 15 after police said a 25-year-old woman entered an Uber vehicle in the Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue area.
The victim was dropped off at her home in the Lawrence Avenue West and Avenue Road area when she was then sexually assaulted.
Amritpal Singh, 24, of Scarborough has been charged with forcible confinement and sexual assault after he surrendered to police on Monday.
He was scheduled to make a court appearance on Monday.
