REGINA – A 20-year-old man was taken to hospital late Friday night after his car was broadsided by a semi on Victoria Avenue.

According to police, the man was driving a silver Mazda Protege northbound on Truesdale Drive when it proceeded through the intersection at Victoria Avenue on a red light.

The car was then struck by an eastbound semi-truck around 11 p.m.

An ambulance took the driver of the car to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the semi-truck driver was uninjured.

The intersection was closed for several hours as police reconstructionists mapped the scene.

The incident is still under investigation.
