While there had been speculation that Mt. Baldy ski area near Oliver would not open this year, today Mt. Baldy corporation announced that it will open this season.

The ski hill had been looking for a new owner to take over operations since it went into receivership in 2013.
Maintenance on the lifts will begin this month and season pass sales will commence on Oct. 21.
If mother nature cooperates they hope to open the ski hill on Dec. 18.
