Canadians will soon decide who they want as prime minister, but according to a Travelzoo Canada survey, they’ve already chosen who they’d like as a travel companion: Liberal leader Justin Trudeau.
Green Party leader Elizabeth May’s popularity is also worth noting, though. Despite the fact that only six per cent of the 862 respondents identified as Green Party supporters, May managed to snag 13 to 17 per cent of the popularity vote across the questions in the infographic below.
Conservative leader Stephen Harper was voted the least desirable candidate to sit next to on an airplane. NDP leader Thomas Mulcair, meanwhile, received the least votes when it came to choosing a candidate to snorkel, visit Europe or take a road trip with.

“What’s interesting about these results is that Trudeau’s popularity as a travel partner is transcending party lines,” said Lara Barlow, the country manager of Travelzoo Canada.
She thinks that suggests Trudeau is someone people would relate to more on a personal level.
“Whether that preference impacts who they will choose as leader on Oct. 19 remains to be seen.”
Travelzoo’s survey was emailed out to 150,000 of its Canadian subscribers, who could choose whether to reply.
“Is it scientific?” said company spokesperson Andrea Chrysanthou. “No, it’s a fun survey.”
