WINNIPEG – Two cats are dead after a fire ripped through a home in St. James early Sunday morning.
Fire crews rushed to the 300 block of Linwood Streeet around 2:20 a.m. after reports of home on fire.
The blaze started in the master bedroom on the second floor.
Fire officials told Global News one person was inside the home at the time but managed to escape unharmed.
Unfortunately, firefighters found two cats deceased on the second flood.
There is extensive damage to the home, however, no damage estimate is available at this time.
The cause is still under investigation.
