An infant at a San Antonio, Texas daycare was sent to hospital after being bitten 27 times by another child at the facility.
The incident, which occurred on Sept. 25, left the three-month-old with bite marks all over its body, including the infant’s eyes, back and legs.
Mary Walker, media specialist for child care licensing in the state, said they asked the daycare to stop operating on Monday.
“We always tell parents when they are leaving their children is to see if the daycare is licensed or registered with the state and abiding by minimum state requirements,” Walker told Global News.

The in-home daycare had been operating without a license for eight years and cared for 10 to 12 children a day.
According to KENS 5 News, the operator of the facility waited four hours before reporting the injuries to the family because the marks “didn’t fade away.” After she was shut down for business, the owner said she didn’t know she needed a licence to run the daycare.
“It was an accident,” she told KENS 5.
She refused to answer the news station’s questions on what she had been doing when the infant was being bitten bu the toddler.
The woman has not been identified since she has not been criminally charged. However, she could face child neglect or injury to a child by omission if police see fit.
Global News has sent a request out to the San Antonio Police Department to obtain more information on this event.
The investigation is ongoing.
