One person seriously injured in apartment fire on Danforth Avenue

TORONTO – One person has been transported to hospital with serious injuries following an apartment fire on the Danforth in Toronto’s east-end Tuesday morning.

Toronto Fire Services say the call came in at 8:48 a.m. for a fire inside a three-story building at 1169 Danforth Ave.

Firefighters arrived to find one person without vital signs but Toronto paramedics confirmed the victim is now in serious condition.

The fire was put out shortly after 9 a.m. and no other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
