WATCH: Global’s Shannon Cuciz interviews pharmacist Sherry Torkos about natural remedies
WINNIPEG – With the school year starting, kids are bringing home more than just homework and natural remedies can help.
Holistic pharmacist Sherry Torkos is seeing more patients look for natural health options this fall.
“They want to know about what’s safe and effective, things for the whole family,” Torkos said.
Herbal teas and echinacea can help people stay healthy during the change of season, according to Torkos.
“Epson salts help to relieve muscle aches and pains,” Torkos said, suggesting ice packs for any injuries kids are coming home with, followed by Arnica cream.
“BioCell Collagen has a health Canada approved claim for treating osteoarthritis,” Torkos said. “There’s been a lot of clinical research showing that this… can help to relieve the joint pain.”
Torkos also said the benefits of each product are supported by science and research.
