WINNIPEG – A group of parents and their children gathered at The Forks Friday to remember two-year-old Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette.
The little girl’s body was found in southern Alberta earlier this week after her father Terry Blanchette was killed at their home.

Canadians have been mourning the losses ever since.
“The family needs support, I know they’ll see this and I can’t be there for them, so far away but at least they’ll be able to know that Winnipeg loves them,” the vigil organizer Juliana Madsen said
Toys and stuffed animals were collected at the vigil. They will be donated to the children’s hospital in honour of Hailey next week.
“I just want to show my support to the family because I have little ones too,” Winnipeg mother Samantha Petrie said. “It just feels like something was taken from me too.”
