A St. Augustine, Florida man and his family were evacuated from Disney World over the Labour Day weekend for a meth lab joke taken literally.
David Swindler was trying to extend his family’s visit at the resort and grew impatient with the slow service. He told First Coast News he joked with park employees that he “could build a meth lab in his room by the time he could finally get some service.”
Disney didn’t take his joke lightly.
After Swindler’s room was raided in the middle of the night by police and Disney security, the area was deemed clear. However, Swindler was evicted from Disney World for life.

His wife and two kids are allowed to visit the property.
“It was a figure of speech. I wish I could take it back,” Swindler told FCN.

“David has been beating himself up about it as if he had done something that warranted any of this,” his wife added.
Swindler has been told he can file an appeal with the park and hopefully have the eviction lifted.
The Swindler family are huge Disney fans and even have nicknames after some of the most famous Disney characters. Swindler’s wife calls him ‘Grumpy’ and he calls her ‘Tinkerbell’.

“This has not taken away my love for Disney,” Swindler said. “I will not let them take that away.”
