Apple’s latest mobile operating system, iOS 9, is officially available for download for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users – or so it seems.
Many users took to Twitter moments after the operating system became available for downloading, complaining that the software update failed.
Users are reporting receiving and an error message that reads, “Software Update Failed. An error occurred downloading iOS 9.”

While it’s not yet clear why users are unable to download the update, it could be caused by too many users trying to initiate the download at once.

Global News contacted Apple regarding the issue, but a spokesperson did not comment. According to reports on Twitter, some users were able to successfully start downloading iOS 9 through iTunes on their Mac or PC.
If you are trying to download iOS 9 have patience – it may take a while for the initial demand to die down.
