The Canadian film industry honoured its own on Thursday, March 8 with the 32nd annual Genie Awards, recognizing the best in Canadian film.
Philippe Falardeau’s tender school tale “Monsieur Lazhar” was top of the class at this year’s Genie Awards.
The acclaimed portrait of innocence and loss collected a leading six trophies at Thursday’s bash, while international movie stars Viggo Mortensen and Vanessa Paradis won acting prizes at the televised gala celebrating the best in Canadian film.
