“This is the true beauty of the Aboriginal people of Manitoba,” the pow wow organizer Sherry Starr said. “Now we have a chance to educate the ones who would normally be in the office from Monday to Friday nine to five.”
More than 100 Winnipeggers had the chance to learn the history behind the dances, discuss the dancer outfits and try bead work.
The pow wows will continue on special occasions at The Forks throughout the fall and wrap up on Veterans Day in November.
