Grand finale for Dancing in the Park

They’ve been getting their groove on in Kelowna’s Stuart Park every Wednesday evening, all summer long.

Dance lessons have been offered for free, and every week dancers have been learning a different style.

Year after year, it’s been a treat for locals who just want to get out and enjoy the
summer and something fun and different for tourists as well.

“Lots of tourists stop and they say “what’s this going on here? It’s free?”, says Ali Westlund,
Recreation Technician for the city of Kelowna, “they just jump in. There’s lots of that kind of participation.”

The end of the Dancing in the Park program is just one more sign that the busy summer season is winding down in the Okanagan.

Organizers say next year will be the fifth year for the program.
