TORONTO – Jon Stewart, who said goodbye to The Daily Show earlier this month, came out of retirement to host WWE SummerSlam Sunday night in Brooklyn, New York.
Sporting a grey beard, Stewart took to the ring as he was introduced as the host of the WWE event.
“What’s up, Brooklyn?,” Stewart shouted to the packed Barclays Center. “You know, I’ve spent the last 16 years talking about politics, it’s nice to be back to reality.”
The 52-year-old comedian even got into some of the action.
During the title-for-title match between Seth Rollins and John Cena, Stewart ran into the ring and slammed Cena with a folding chair, aiding in a win for Rollins.
