TORONTO – A Toronto teenager has been invited by Lady Gaga to help launch the singer’s foundation fighting homophobia and bullying across North America.
The 17-year old Jacques St. Pierre, from the Etobicoke School of Arts, was invited personally by Lady Gaga to help launch her new ‘Born This Way Foundation.’
The foundation, launched in 2011, hopes to “foster a more accepting society, where differences are embraced and individuality is celebrated. The Foundation is dedicated to creating a safe community that helps connect young people with the skills and opportunities they need to build a braver, kinder world,” according to the mission statement posted on the foundation’s website.
The Born This Way Foundation’s event at Harvard University coincides with the North America wide “Wear something Pink” day. The annual event asks people to wear something pink for a day to show support for anti-bullying initiatives and homophobia.
