Summary: This is a new riding for 2015. Conservative MP Joe Daniel, who has represented Don Valley East since 2011, is re-offering here.

Boundaries: This riding includes Bayview Woods, Bayview Village, Don Valley Village and Hillcrest Village. Those communities were formerly part of the Don Valley East and Willowdale ridings.

Last Election: If this riding existed in 2011, the Conservatives would have won with 40.3 per cent of the vote, followed by the Liberals with 37.3 per cent.

History: Both of the former ridings that make up this new riding were solidly Liberal since the late 1990s, but both elected Conservatives in 2011.

Demographics: 64.85 per cent of residents in this riding were immigrants as of the 2011 National Household Survey, the third highest percentage in the province. 46 per cent of residents were born in Asia, the fifth highest figure in Ontario, behind only two ridings in Scarborough and two ridings in Markham.
