Winter storm warning ended for Saskatoon, still in place for most of southern Saskatchewan

Environment Canada has now lifted the winter storm warning for Saskatoon and surrounding areas but the warning remains in place for most of southern Saskatchewan.

EC says the track of the storm has now shifted slightly southward and snowfall amounts in Saskatoon will now be less than initially thought.

Southern parts of the province will still feel the brunt of the storm and areas covered by the storm warning can expect to receive 10 t0 15 cm of snow by Sunday morning.

Strong easterly winds will accompany the storm, creating blowing snow and poor visibility.

EC is advising motorists to check road conditions on Saturday for the latest conditions before heading out on provincial highways in those areas.

Communities along the Yellowhead Highway will also see snow and blowing snow at times throughout the day.
