MONTREAL – Police believe a home invasion in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve Monday night may have been a targeted attack.

The incident happened around 9:55 p.m. when three suspects forced their way inside an apartment located on Davidson Street, near Adam Street.

A 36-year-old man was assaulted with a blunt object.

All three suspects then fled the scene inside a grey pick-up truck.

“The victim was transported to hospital with serious wounds to the head and upper body,” said André Leclerc with Montreal police.

The motive behind the attack remains unknown, but police said right behind the victim’s home is another building, on Cuvillier Street, that is known for criminal activity.

“That apartment has been related to drug events, so the apartment of the victim seems to be targeted by the suspects,” said Leclerc.

Investigators are still working on the case.
