Federal Election 2015: Mirabel riding results

Summary: This is a new riding for 2015, which is mainly a smaller version of the former Argenteuil—Papineau—Mirabel riding. NDP MP Mylène Freeman, who was elected in that riding in 2011, is seeking re-election here.

Boundaries: Beginning at Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac in the east, the riding runs west along the river to Saint-Placide, north to Saint-Colomban, and east to Saint-Anne-des-Plaines.

Last Election: In 2011, voters within the boundaries of this new riding voted 49.5 per cent for the NDP, 31.0 per cent for the Bloc Québécois, 9.9 per cent Conservative, and 7.7 per cent Liberal.

History: The former Argenteuil—Papineau—Mirabel riding was a Bloc Québécois stronghold from 1993 to 2011. Freeman defeated four-term incumbent Mario Laframboise to win the seat.
