Summary: NDP MP Pierre Nantel is trying to win re-election in this new riding, in an area that was a Bloc Québécois stronghold from the early 90’s, until the NDP surge of 2011. The long-shot Green Party candidate would make history if elected here as the youngest ever MP — she turns 18 on election day.
Boundaries: This riding includes part of two former ridings, Longueuil—Pierre-Boucher and Saint-Bruno—Saint Hubert, to the south of the Island of Montreal.

Last Election: Had this riding existed in 2011, the NDP would have taken 50.0 per cent of the vote, followed by the BQ with 28.8 per cent.
History: The two former ridings that represented this area until now elected Bloc Québécois members from 1993 through 2008. Like many Quebec ridings outside the centre of Montréal, this area has followed a similar electoral pattern: Voters elected Bloc Québécois exclusively between 1993 and 2011, elected PC candidates from 1984 to 1993, and Liberal candidates throughout the Trudeau era.
