Federal Election 2015: Compton-Stanstead riding results

Summary: 2015 sees a rematch here between NDP MP Jean Rousseau, and the Bloc Québécois’ France Bonsant, who held this seat from 2004 until 2011.

Boundaries: This riding surrounds the riding of Sherbrooke, and includes parts of the municipality of Sherbrooke. It is similar to the 2011 version, but now includes Bromptonville. Main towns in this riding include Coaticook, Lennoxville (now part of Sherbrooke), North Hatley, Stanstead and Ayer’s Cliff.

Last Election: NDP Rousseau won with 47.6 per cent of the vote. BQ Bonsant finished second with 26.0 per cent.

History: This riding was created in 1997, electing PC David Price. He ran as a Liberal and won again in 2000.
