Emergency responders were dispatched to the area of Paul’s Tomb in Knox Mountain Park after 3:00 p.m. Sunday on reports of a possible drowning.

RCMP say the man was free diving with his girlfriend and went back into the water alone for one final dive. When his girlfriend noticed he wasn’t resurfacing she dove into the lake and pulled him out of the water.

Police say two people paddle boarding helped bring the man to shore. Friends and family of the man were also in the area and helped out. He was given CPR and flown to Kelowna General Hospital by air ambulance in critical condition.
