Man struck and killed by train in Cochrane

EDMONTON – An 18-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning when he was struck by a train in Cochrane, Alberta.

The incident happened at around 2:30 a.m.

Police said the man, who was from Cochrane, was struck by a westbound train. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further details about the incident have not been released by RCMP.

The man’s name is not being released at this time.

This is the second time in the past month a person was struck and killed by a train in Cochrane. On July 16, a man names Jesse Dostaler was killed when he was struck by a train in the community northwest of Calgary.
